Firstly, sorry its not been a week between each post, not sure any one cares, but just case you do..sorry.
Secondly, I am pregnant, seven and a half weeks, so early days still, but i am a sharer, and cant keep a secret, so everyone knows! Its earlier than planned, and now i cant lean to ski this winter and unfortunately, unlike with the first two, this time round I have terrible nausea! When I found out I expected to be tired, as i was with the other two, but i was not expecting this nausea...which as i am sure many women who have experienced before know...is just horrible. But we are happy and excited to be adding another ratbag to our collection! lol!
Purchases:
Well that's been far too easy the past couple of weeks, as I am too tired and too sick to even bother thinking about the shops! Although i did buy one on sale loose fitting dress top and a pair of thick leggings, so that i have something to wear in the cold as my tummy expands. So far i have only been sitting around the house in my pj's feeling sorry for myself, but as soon as the nausea wears off will be about when i would guess my tummy will start to pop and i will need something to keep it warm!!
I have dropped my buying a phone challenge, because our current phone has been working fine, and we have decided now knowing that i am pregnant that we will stick to the original plan of living here for only 12 months, so we'll be heading home in about three. This departure time will probably mean that i wont need too much in the way of maternity clothes, so i am hoping the dress/top i bought and some of my not so tight pants will get me through!
Junk food
Bit and hit and miss on that one! The nausea is to blame really, i can barely stomach anything, and right now i am nibbling on oven backed salted chips, and sipping on lemonade(both of which as supposed to help apparently). The easiest things to stomach are light snacks, but i am trying the best i can(with very little energy) to make most of the choices healthy, like lots of vegi sticks, and fruit.
Dinners, i am still making do without needing to get take out, and hubby is helping cook too. Mostly i am trying to think of things that are fairly easy and straight forward, and not too potent smelling.
Facebook and computer addiction
In an attempt to curb my terrible addiction to facebook, which has also become a bit bad habit of continuously checking it on my phone, I have closed down my account. It hasn't been quite as hard as i thought it would be, but i still find myself continuously wanting to check my phone, so i keep turning it on then realising there is nothing to check, as i said...BAD HABIT....quite possible like the feeling of not holding a cigarette any more for smokers...So hopefully i will soon get used to that and it wont become such an automatic action.
Packaging
One thing i have been thinking a lot since i started this crack down is packaging, how much 'we' use ourselves, and how much 'we' buy that has excessive packaging. I think generally we are not too bad in this house hold, i tend to not buy things that come in small pre-packaged portions, and prefer to split the pack up myself and use containers in lunch boxes etc. But i do think i do use a lot of zip lock bags to store things in the fridge once opened, as they take up less room than containers do and we have a very small fridge. Something i noticed...even with all this secure safety packaging food comes in these days, layers and layers of seals and plastics there are not a lot that are really resealable....Like cheese, butter, and ham, although i think some of the ham packets say "easy-open and resealable" i have never found them to be very successful, and ham goes dry very quickly. I usually wrap a piece of glad-wrap over for extra security, but was thinking it would probably be better to putting in all into a container instead. Cheese and butter are the same, for now i have them in zip lock bags, that i reuse a couple of times for new blocks, but i think after that i might try putting them in containers too....only thing with the butter is i don't think i have a container the right size.....will have to add that to my list of things to keep an eye out for in the 2nd hand stores...it would be helpful if they had garage sales here more often :)
Personal thoughts
I feel like things are going well. Nothing awesome to report though, we haven't really had any needs that have required thinking about how to get other than by buying new, in the last few weeks, but i do think generally i am still thinking about it all in general, i am not just buying lots of things online or itunes music/tv shows. Instead I have been going back through our old music for a change, and we have been renting a few video's and watching tv shows we already own.
